“Trickle Pendulum” mechanism is one of a very few self-contained mechanisms made of only two moving relative to each other parts. Actually, just a couple came to mind - “Bolt and Nut” and “Sand Clock”. One was invented in 400 BC , the other in 8-th century. This toy is fun to watch; it has completely mesmerizing and somewhat hypnotic moves. Motorized version completely excludes human interaction and just allows to observe moving parts of pendulum itself as well as of intricate driving mechanism.
